THE NEW BLACK BAY CHRONO “BLUE”

To add another layer of character to the model, this boutique exclusive features a dial that taps into TUDOR’s rich tradition of incorporating blue dials into all the lines of the collection. Throughout the decades, the brand has pioneered several blue hues in a number of designs. This has led to the notion of “TUDOR Blue”, not referring to a specific reference of the colour, rather highlighting its permanence in TUDOR’s characteristic aesthetics. Of particular interest are the two model ranges that inspired the Black Bay Chrono “Blue”—dive watches, like the famed blue “Snowflake” TUDOR Submariner, and chronographs, with the collector-favourite blue “Montecarlo” Oysterdate Chronograph, both models emblematic of seventies TUDOR production.

 

Now, the spiritual successor of those watches is itself imbued with a touch of “TUDOR Blue” perpetuating a very TUDOR tradition—and it’s available exclusively at TUDOR boutiques worldwide. Black Bay Chrono Blue features а satin-brushed and polished case in 316L stainless steel, 41mm in diameter, with a fixed bezel with insert in blue anodised aluminium with tachymetric scale. The domed blue satin sun-brushed dial contrasts with the silver circular sub-counters. The “Snowflake” hands, one of the hallmarks of the TUDOR divers’ watches, have the Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova® luminescent material. The new model’s calibre is Manufacture Chronograph MT5813, certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), with a a 70-hour power reserve.
